Unicom, the provider of utilities and telecoms solutions to small businesses across the UK, recently supported the Edinburgh based voluntary organisation, Play-base Edinburgh, funding a crèche facility for a range of new courses starting this summer.
Play-base Edinburgh provides quality training in play based child care for young parents and parents from ethnic minority groups through low cost, accessible courses. The skills learnt provide the first steps in getting parents back into work or towards further education within the child care sector and help to build their own confidence in parenting.
Unicom will be funding the crèche facility for a series of three, eight week, courses running from August 2014 to March 2015. The donation was awarded through Unicom’s Community Support Scheme which provides funding for projects that aim to improve the lives of residents living in communities close to its regional offices.
Maria Sherrington (Play-base Tutor and Administrator) said, “Play-base tries to ensure that quality crèche facilities are provided for each course, as most participants have children themselves it is vital in ensuring that they can attend. The donation really will help a small organisation like us, thank you so much.”
