Unicom, the provider of utilities and telecoms solutions to small businesses across the UK, recently supported the Aberdeen-based Asthma and Allergy Foundation, sponsoring a fun run held by the foundation to raise money for the cause.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation, helps people living with Asthma to manage their condition and improve their quality of life, providing practical health information, advice and support as well as training for teachers and parents in over 42 schools across Aberdeenshire. With over 5.4m people suffering from Asthma in the UK, the Foundation provides a critical support service to the local communities.
Unicom were proud to sponsor the fun run, which took place in Aberdeen over a course of 5Km. Thirty people took part raising £1,800 in the process. The donation was awarded through Unicom’s Community Support Scheme which provides funding for projects that aim to improve the lives of residents living in communities close to its regional offices.
Martina Chukwuma-Ezike (manager), from the Foundation said: “This funding will help our charity to provide essential asthma education training in schools enabling children with asthma to manage their symptoms better, reduce absenteeism, improve learning, reduce asthma crises in schools and improve the schools abilities to respond to asthma emergencies.”
